SSC How it Works?
The full form of SSC is the Staff Selection Commission, an organization responsible for leading the recruitment process for various posts under the Government of India in various ministries and departments. The other name for SSC is Subordinate Service Commission formally called and currently, it is termed the Staff Selection Commission. SSC Organization comes under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) governed by a Chairman, two Members, and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.
Currently, the Chairman of SSC is Braj Raj Sharma. Also, know that according to the proposals given by the commission, the functions of the Staff Selection Commission were redefined by The Government of India through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and the new structure and functions of Staff Selection Commission (SSC full form) came into effect from June 1, 1999.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have done class 10th (High School) Examination in Any Recognized Board in India. Further, they must have done the class 10+2 Intermediate Exam in Any Recognized Board in India and their gradation must have done from a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from any recognized university.
Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay Rs 100 as an application fee. Candidates can pay the application fee online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards, or in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes(ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.
The SSC has decided to postpone the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) (Tier-I) and Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) (CGL) exams till further orders. The CHSL exam has been postponed for the candidates who had opted for their centers in West Bengal.
The SSC CHSL exams were scheduled for May 21 and 22 while CGL exams were scheduled to be held between May 29 to June 7. Along with these examinations, the commission has also deferred the date of notification of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in the Assam Rifles Examination, 2023 which was previously scheduled to release in the first week of May 2023.
Fresh dates for the examination and notification will be announced in due course after assessing the situation. Fresh dates of postponed examinations and notification of examinations shall be announced by the Commission in due course after assessing the situation.
