JEE Mains introduces negative marking for Section B; Know marking scheme
JEE Mains introduces negative marking for Section B: Unlike last year, engineering aspirants will get only two attempts to appear for the exam. NTA will hold exams in April and May.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced negative marking for Section B in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2022. In Section B, candidates should enter the answer in numerical value.
In JEE Mains 2022, the first part of Paper 1 and Paper 2 will have two sections – Section A and Section B. JEE Mains 2022 exam will be in Section A Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) mode. In section B, candidates have to enter the answer in numerical values. Out of 10 questions given in Section B, candidates are required to answer any five. In Section B, candidates can enter the answer rounded off to the nearest integer.
There is no negative marking for Section B on page number 16 of JEE Mains 2022 Information Bulletin, however, NTA in its latest notice clarified that there will be negative marking in Section B. As per JEE Mains 2022 Marking Scheme, JEE Mains 2022 Section A will have MCQ questions for which four marks will be awarded for correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer.
The same applies to JEE Mains Section B as well. In Section B, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. In both cases, no marks will be added or deducted for an unanswered question.

JEE Mains 2022 exam date was announced by NTA on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam will be conducted in two sessions in April and May, with the first phase from April 16 to 21 and the second phase from May 24 to 29. Last year, engineering aspirants were given four attempts to appear in the national exam. level engineering entrance test to improve your score.
The registration process of JEE Main 2022 began on March 1. Candidates can apply for the JEE Main 2022 exam till March 31 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. But according to NTA, there will not be any correction facility for JEE Main 2022 online application. Hence, students have to be very careful when filling out the JEE Main application form 2022.
