5 Tips to crack Math and Science
Apply smart learning techniques
While preparing for the exam, don’t just study for long hours. This can be tedious and you may not keep all the information with you. Instead, follow the techniques below to make your learning more productive:
(i) Pomodoro Technique: Study with full attention for a period of 25 minutes, and then take a 5-minute break. You can come back to study after the break. However, do not study for more than 10 hours a day.
(ii) Feynman Technique: Teach someone else a concept. When you teach, you will be able to identify gaps in your own learning. Go back to the learning material and try to correct these learning gaps.
(ii) Learning Tools: Build your own learning tools such as mind-maps, mnemonics, cheat sheets and flow charts. It is especially helpful in learning science and maths chapters. Create your own mnemonics, for example, to learn an equation or a sequence of something (such as a sequence of elements). To learn the formulas, create a cheat sheet (a compilation of important formulas) and paste it where you can see and memorize it consistently.
Make a plan according to chapter-wise weightage of marks
The chapter-wise division of marks for each subject and each chapter is available on the official website of CBSE. Plan your timetable in such a way that you are giving equal time to all the subjects. Also, allocate more time to those chapters which have more weightage of marks. By giving priority to the chapters with more weightage, you have more chances to score well.
Be thorough with NCERT and NCERT examplers
CBSE Board Exam questions are strictly based on the content of NCERT textbooks. If you want to score more than 90 percentile, then go through all the questions thoroughly at the end of each chapter. To further increase your chances of scoring good marks, practice questions in NCERT examplers thoroughly.

Solve questions from CBSE Question Bank and Sample Papers
It is important to know the format of the question paper and the division of marks per question. For this, download the sample question paper for Term 2 from the official website of CBSE. Use the timer while solving these question papers. In this way, you will get to know which questions are taking the most time and whether you are able to solve the question paper within the time limit. Solve as many question papers as possible to know how to manage your time during the exam.
Write structured and clear answers
While writing subjective answers, students usually neglect to give titles, subtitles, bullets, etc. It is a good idea to structure your answers better, keep them concise, underline important points and keep the answer sheet clean. Keep the diagram neat for science answers, use flow charts and diagrams wherever possible. For math answers, make sure the rough work is seen, but it is neatly placed within a box on the right. Make sure you answer all parts of a question, even if you don’t know the answer to one or two of them. A neat, well-structured, and complete answer sheet ensures a good score.
